Isaac was born and raised on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica surrounded by the ocean and local culture. Born into a family of fishermen, he spent months at a time on fishing boats with his grandfather, learning the trade and developing a deep respect for the power and beauty of the sea. He still remembers the first time he saw surfers from a nearby boat - he didn’t understand what they were doing, but it changed his life.
 

Isaac first surfed on an old single-fin fish board left behind by someone else. Resourceful and determined, he fixed the board and taught himself to surf through surf magazines and by watching other professional surfers on the beach. This marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for surfing and a desire to share that connection with others.
 

At 16, Isaac moved to Santa Teresa, after developing his coaching skills and in-depth knowledge of the ocean, The Beach Boys was born. Isaac’s vision was simple: to share his love for the ocean, his knowledge of surfing, and his connection to Costa Rica with others. For him, surfing isn’t just a sport - it’s a way to connect with nature, culture, and life itself. The feeling of catching a wave is like nothing else, and he wants everyone to experience it.
 

Through The Beach Boys, Isaac brings that passion to life. From first-time beginners to advanced surfers refining their skills, he and his team provide personalized lessons, surf guides, and video analysis, all designed to make learning fun, safe, and memorable.

But surfing is just the beginning. Isaac invites you to live the Pura Vida lifestyle with him: salty mornings on the sand, jungle rides on a motorbike, plunging into waterfalls, picking fresh fruit, visiting the fish market for local catches, making ceviche under the stars, or cooking his grandmother’s Sopa de Pescado. These moments, like the waves themselves, are authentic, alive, and deeply Costa Rican.
